New Museum
The New Museum is the only museum in New York City exclusively dedicated to contemporary art, presenting new and emerging artists from around the world alongside more established figures. Founded in 1977, the museum is housed in a striking stacked-box building on the Bowery designed by the Japanese firm SANAA.

Permanent Collection
Unlike most museums, the New Museum does not maintain a traditional permanent collection, focusing instead on presenting temporary exhibitions of new and emerging contemporary art. Its semi-permanent collection of recent acquisitions reflects the most current directions in global contemporary art.
